| Down to the Crossroads is an innovative, unique
and creative one hour show for television. The series is being shot in HD, 5.1 surround sound at the Ground Zero Blues Club and hosted by the club’s owner, Morgan Freeman.
The Ground Zero Blues Club is located in Clarksdale, Mississippi-the true home of the Blues. Each episode will feature a legendary Blues artist and one or more internationally known music stars honoring the Blues artist featured in each episode. Few will argue that all modern music can trace its roots back to the Blues. International Stars from all genres of music: Pop, Rock, Soul, Country, Jazz and Hip Hop recognize this as true and are jumping at the chance to honor their Blues heroes……..the essence of "Down to the Crossroads". Clarksdale is the perfect spot for this series. Not only, is it the home of Morgan Free Blues Club , but it is the birthplace of Muddy Waters, Ike Turner, Sam Cook and many others who changed the world with their music. It is truly “Ground Zero” for the Blues. The first DVD features George Thorogood and the Destroyers (“Bad To The Bone”) with Eddie Shaw (sax player and arranger for legendary Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf). Four additional shows feature: - Delaney Bramlett (Bonnie & Delaney, “Let It Rain”, and “Superstar”) - Elvin Bishop (“Fooled Around and Fell in Love”) with Pine Top Perkins and Little Smokey Smothers -Jimmy Thackery and the Drivers (a founding member of the well-known Nighthawks) -The Cate Brothers ( played with Bob Dylan, and The Band) |
